Utiltyx is pleased to announce the addition of Bryan J. Olnick to their Advisory Board. Throughout the electric utility industry, he is a well-known and respected electric utility operations strategist and innovator while also having unique experience as a tactical planner and change-maker known for delivering results. Bryan retired in 2020 as Vice President of Electric Distribution Operations at Florida Power & Light Company.
During his 36 years at FPL, he served in various key leadership roles helping to drive industry and business strategies in Smart Grid Innovation, Distributed Energy Resources, Data Analytics, Grid Resiliency, Storm and Disaster Emergency Response, Storm Hardening, and Distribution Systems and Control Center Operations resulting in record setting reliability, cost, and customer service performance. Bryan is a recognized expert in Smart Grid technologies and as the President and Founder of GridSky Strategies he continues to provide executive level advisory services covering all aspects of electric utility operations.

Bryan’s professional affiliations have extended across a wide array of organizations, including the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Association of Edison Illuminating Companies, Florida Engineering Society, Edison Electric Institute, Southeast Electric Exchange, Veterans In Energy, and was a member of the US Dept. Of Energy’s Electricity Advisory Committee. He is also an experienced and active Advisory Board member in the Energy Industry providing his expertise and insights to drive innovation and success.
Bryan is a graduate of the University of Florida’s College of Engineering and a proud UF Gator. He is a patent holder in the area of Smart Grid technologies and proudly served with honors and distinction for five years in the United States Air Force in the United States, Europe, and the Middle East.
